WHAT WE NEED

The Assistant Production Operator (APO) role is an entry-level position which supports the production process through a variety of activities.  Support and adherence to our 5S environment is a key component to all our production roles. 

 

This opening is for our 1st shift - 8:00AM - 4:30PM - Monday-Friday.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Performs packing, stacking, and inspection requirements for each of the different production lines. 
  • Prepares packaging for filling at the appropriate line.
  • Communicates production concerns to line leaders, supervisors, mechanics, and quality control.
  • Completes material handling as needed to keep the line supplied.
  • Operates equipment such as labelers, case erectors, case packers.
  • Performs and documents verification checks to ensure output of acceptable products accurately.
  • Verify proper codes are on all packaging.
  • Follow proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) including wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements.
  • Assist Operators in meeting line requirements to ensure fluent delivery of cases to the end customer.
  • Clean, organize, perform rework, dumps bottles and other tasks associated with driving performance efficiency in the operation of the manufacturing environment.  
  • Learn 5S standards and help to drive them throughout all assigned activities.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Continuous learning, and improvement, mindset is a must; there are many opportunities to learn and develop at BRF, but the individual needs to be motivated to engage in those opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Willingness to offer suggestions on ways to improve assigned work.
  • Ability to follow and implement written or oral instructions.
  • Team player and constructive conflict management are key skills for success.
  • Self-starter and disciplined.
  • Punctuality is a must.
  • Motivated to do your best work each day.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment, which includes fluctuation in heat, moisture, and noise.
  • Wear Food Manufacturing GMP Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - hard hat, hairnet (head and beard if applicable), steel toes shoes/boots, face mask, no facial piercings, false eyelashes or fake fingernails.
  • English fluency required to successfully speak, read, write, and comprehend directions in English and communicate with other employees in English as part of regular job duties.
