WHAT WE NEED
The Forklift Driver will provide the safe transportation and storage of all ingredients, packaging and finished goods through BRF's facilities. Employees in this position are responsible for driving forklifts to load, unload trucks and storage racks; store and retrieve food products, equipment, or other materials to support food production lines.
This opening is for our 3rd shift 12:00am - 8:30am - Monday-Friday.
3rd Shift Differential = $1.50 per hour.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will help to ensure an efficient and safe, transportation and storage of food ingredients, packaging, and finished product by:
- Driving forklifts to load, unload, and store food products, equipment, or other materials.
- Operating forklifts and other equipment in a safe manner by following the BRF safety procedures.
- Following Standard Operating Procedures, Bills of Lading, and Pick Lists.
- Inputting transactions in SAP to update inventory.
- Assisting as assigned in the organization and cleaning of docks, rack storage areas, and facility.
- Highly technical operation required as some areas of facility have close spacing
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience driving a forklift in a manufacturing setting, to include close quarters and high traffic areas - required.
- Forklift License required, BRF will re-certify if expired.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Effectively read the Standard Operating Procedures, Bills of Lading, and Pick Lists, which are written in the English language, and complete associated paperwork. Fluently read and write in English language to ensure paperwork and record keeping is completed to SQF standards.
- Be able to accurately follow directions, work effectively in teams, and contribute a positive attitude each day.
- Work in a manufacturing environment, which includes fluctuation in heat, moisture and noise.
- Wear Food Manufacturing GMP Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - hard hat, hairnet (head and beard if applicable), steel toes shoes/boots, face mask
